Please stop adding new qualifications until ALL existing qualifications have an explanation attached to them describing what people can be expected to do as a result of havign such a qualification.

Nice try - but can we in future have a sound only alternative. Most of us suffer from low bandwidth or high levels of contention so cannot have sound and vision and so get neither. You have just emphasised our case for high bandwidth to be a universal service obligation.
23 July at 15:49 - From: Tony Wallace, IoE - For: Panel
The concept of demand-led is highly ambiguous; does it mean Learners via 'Skills Accounts' or Employers?
23 July at 15:48 - From: Bert Bucklley, LSN - For: Chris Humphries
Is this an issue of cutting before we know what we need in order to achieve - what are the skill requirements of employers and what kind of organisations are required to develop the infrastructure
23 July at 15:39 - From: Heather Dean, ngage solutions ltd - For: Chris Humphries
What difference do you think the new vocational qualification reform programme will make? Given units of qualifications will be broken up for delivery - will this free up funding by offering employers funding for the bits of qualifications which they have identified as being useful for them?
23 July at 15:29 - From: Pippa John-Cooke, Open University - For: The Panel
There has been no mention of the DEMAND side for highly skilled people. Do we therefore need to look at investing more in R&D (as well as the lower levels from entry to level 2)?
23 July at 15:28 - From: Vivienne Rayner, FSB
T2G should be just about training needs analysis and then signposting on. Then teh wiring does not matter. That is how we have been promoting T2G with the free stuff as a bonus
23 July at 15:25 - From: Vivienne Stern, universities uk - For: employer reps
Question How effective is Business Link as a means of directing employers to relevant education and training?
23 July at 15:21 - From: Denise McCormack, DMC Consultants - For: Panel
Why should organisations receive funded learning that will only benefit their profitability and efficiency? Should not public funds be directed at ensuring all school leavers are job ready and supporting reskilling and upskilling of unemployed? Identification of real impact of training and development on the 'bottom line' as encouraged by TQS would allow organisations to make a reasoned decision regarding paying for T and D in the same way as they decide on R and D.
23 July at 15:19 - From: Mark freeman, Skills - Third Sector
We need to ensure more stability in the policies and the organisations involved in skills development, this would help reduce costs and help people to learn how the system works, how do we ensure that this happens
23 July at 15:18 - From: Mariska van der Linden, Enterprise Insight - For: Panel as a whole
Do you think our education system does enough to ensure young people are equipped with entrepreneurial skills and attitudes?
23 July at 15:09 - From: Vivienne Rayner, FSB

In the drive to simplification, how can we create meaningful and effective targets, measures and incentives for employers, providers and government, which will unleash the full potential of women at all levels and of all ages, who work in Science Engineering and Technology? The unnecessary loss of women to these fields of work is well documented by the UK Resource Centre for Women in SET (funded by BIS to address the under representation of women in SET).

Should the National Employer Service's single point of contact approach be extended to companies with less than 5000 staff?
