environment 09. The Environment Agency Annual Conference. 9 - 10 November 2009, QEII Conference Centre, London

environment 09 - supper debate

This house believes that nagging and banning still have their place

The Supper Debate will argue the pros and cons of laissez-faire or intervention. Should those who want to protect the environment stand back and let matters take their course or should they seek to cajole and regulate? The stakes are high - which approach will reinforce the behaviour, or behaviour change, that saves the world?

This debate gives delegates a chance to eat, to think, to be entertained AND to examine one of the eternal, and fundamental, questions at the heart of the human dilemma - does nagging and banning work? Come and decide for yourself.
