Adolescence to Adulthood with Autism

Making the transition in education, employment and independence

14th October 2010
The Bloomsbury Hotel, London WC1

The landmark Autism Act 2009, and the publication of the first autism strategy 'Fulfilling an rewarding lives' sets out the Government's Strategy for adults with Autism, which draaws on the findings from the National Audit Office report 'Supporting adults with autism through adulthood' (2009) are significant developments towards improving service provision.

However, bridging the gap from children's to adult services still remains an area in need of improvement.

Managing the transition for young people with Autism into adulthood requires effective planning and joint working between health, social care, education, housing and the employment sectors.

Attend this conference and hear from senior representatives across these sectors sharing good practice models in delivering and commissioning services to ensure successful transitions into adulthood.
