Delivering Services for Gypsies and Travellers

As the general election approaches, there are a
number of challenging questions around services for
Gypsy and Traveller communities that any elected
government will need to address.
These include questions around quality and quantity of
site provision; overcoming employment discrimination;
building trust in health and social care; and creating
opportunities which provide positive activities for
young people.
Local authorities wanting effective solutions will be
hoping that the next government gives high priority
to these issues. However, with public finances already
stretched, councils will need to find a way to do more
with less, and priorities will be subject to public pressure.
This conference, developed in partnership with the
National Association of Gypsy and Traveller Officers
(NAGTO), will attempt to answer some of these
challenging questions, and in doing so assist local
authorities and partners to access existing funding and
deliver value for money.
