“Over the past decade, every English region has benefited from significant and impressive growth. I want us to go further and faster, spreading this prosperity to every area of the country – but Whitehall can not do this alone”
(John Healey MP, Minister for Local Government, April 2008)
Last year’s Sub-national Review of economic development and regeneration (SNR) paved the way for local authorities and their partners to work together – unconstrained by traditional geographical boundaries – through Multi Area Agreements (MAAs). This third annual event, ‘Economic Prosperity’ will bring together a key audience to understand the scale and potential for the new MAAs to work within economic areas to fundamentally change the way complex economic issues are addressed.
Whilst considering how a MAA may add value to your area, hear early learnings from pilots around models of MAAs and different governance arrangements. Take part in interactive seminars which will allow you to discuss with peers challenges associated with sub-regional partnerships and develop strategies to overcome these.
