The economic crisis has had an undeniable impact on jobs, but the UK will come out of recession and needs to be ready, to grasp opportunities, and to rebuild and reshape its economy. A new world economy is emerging and this conference mapped out its shape and implications for strategic players. It provided an opportunity for all with an interest in the long term development of the UK’s skills base, as the foundation of global competitiveness, and of the quality of work and lives.
