September 2008 represents a significant milestone in the Diploma programme; with around half of colleges and a quarter of schools delivering the first five lines of learning. As the pace of engagement accelerates, with 72% schools and 88% of colleges predicted to be offering a Diploma by September 2009, addressing the key delivery challenges and ensure the quality of teaching will be critical.

Diplomas remain at the heart of the government's ambitious 14-19 reforms to enhance retention and achievement amongst young people. By combining theoretical and practical learning and requiring a collaborative approach, schools, colleges, local authorities, higher education and employers must come together to equip young people with the skills required for success in work and life.

With a focus on quality and delivering excellent learning in this critical first year the 3 rd annual national conference will again bring together key decision makers from schools, colleges, training providers, higher education, local authorities and employers to set out the latest diploma developments, how diplomas fit within the wider 14-19 qualification reform and showcase the best practice of local consortia in making the diplomas a success.
