PURPOSE OF THE CONFERENCE
This one day conference will:
• Examine the latest policy and programmes to enhance the student experience in higher education
• Understand the importance of managing student expectations of higher education learning
• Hear how leading institutions are developing tools to better inform the decisions of applicants
• Examine what it is that students are entitled to expect of their universities and what universities can reasonably expect of students
• Look at the measures that are being taken to enhance the role of students shaping teaching, curriculum, assessment, and quality processes
• Hear how changes in the sector are likely to bring new partners into the sector and examine how the sector can make best use of these partnerships and technology associated with it.
• Set out the links between student experience and maintaining quality in learning and teaching, effective assessment and feedback, engaging students as active partners
• Consider how students view employability as a key aspect of their student experience and how leading universities are working to enhance the employability of their students
• Showcase how leading HEIs are monitoring student satisfaction and using the results to influence change in the student experience across an institution
• Examine the role of the student experience in a university’s strategic plan and where to target resources to improve the student journey
• Set out ways in which universities can give graduates the best chance in the job markets through co-curricular activities
• Set-out how leading institutions are analysing student survey and making changes to respond to student expectations
• Showcase good practice and highlight innovative initiatives, through a series of knowledge café sessions, to improve student satisfaction and deliver a world class academic experience
• Understand the importance of the student experience in an institution’s strategic plan and where resources are being targeted
• Hear how leading HEI’s are increasing the support for staff in dealing with increasing student expectations
• Set out how to identify the needs of specific groups of students to support a diverse student body
• Highlight the importance of working in partnership with student unions to boost student support and satisfaction
• Provide an opportunity to network with others working enhance the student experience of higher education
